Living Harmlessly: A Path to Love and Light

Updated: Dec 25, 2024

As the holiday season approaches, it’s a time when many of us reflect on themes of love, compassion, and connection. For some, this is inspired by Christ’s teachings of unconditional love; for others, it may be drawn from the wisdom of their own spiritual or cultural traditions. No matter where you find yourself spiritually, the Law of Love offers a path toward true transformation, harmony, and unity.

As a professional psychic medium, I often work with the subjective realities that shape our lives—the energy of our thoughts, intentions, and emotions. In my experiences connecting with spirit, one truth stands out as universal: energy follows thought.

This principle is echoed not only in spiritual traditions around the globe but also in the messages I’ve received from those who have crossed over. Time and again, I’m reminded of the power we hold to shape our reality and contribute to the greater harmony of the world.

Energy Follows Thought: A Universal Truth

The idea that our thoughts shape our reality isn’t just a concept I’ve encountered through spiritual study—it’s something I’ve witnessed in my work as a psychic medium. The energy we send out, whether through thoughts, emotions, or intentions, creates ripples that extend beyond what we can see. These ripples connect us to one another, to the universe, and to the unseen realms of spirit.

This truth is echoed across wisdom traditions worldwide:

  • In Buddhism, the Dhammapada opens with the lines: “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” This reminds us that our minds are the architects of our reality.

  • In Indigenous Wisdom, the interconnectedness of all life is emphasized. The Lakota phrase Mitákuye Oyás’iŋ (All My Relations) reflects the awareness that our thoughts and actions impact not just ourselves but the entire web of life.

  • In Sufism, Rumi’s poetry speaks of elevating our thoughts and intentions to align with divine love, as he wrote: “You were born with wings, why prefer to crawl through life?”

  • In Hinduism, the Bhagavad Gita teaches the importance of aligning thought and action with higher purpose, a practice that cultivates harmony and unity.

These teachings affirm what I’ve come to know through spirit work: our thoughts are powerful tools for shaping not only our individual experiences but also the collective energy of the world.

The Law of Love: A Guiding Principle Across Realms

In Light of the Soul: The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Alice Bailey writes that “The Law of Love can be seen as the outstanding characteristic of the soul, and soul life is one of love.” This principle isn’t confined to the physical world—it extends into the spiritual dimensions, where love serves as a guiding force that unites all beings.

The Law of Love transcends the duality of “good” and “bad” and instead calls us to align with our soul’s purpose. When I connect with spirit, the messages I receive often center on this very law. Souls remind us that love is not just an emotion but a universal energy that brings us together, offering healing, unity, and transformation.

This wisdom aligns beautifully with the Dalai Lama’s words: “Do as much good as possible, avoid harm, and purify your mind.” Living by the Law of Love is not about perfection—it’s about consistently choosing to act from a place of compassion and harmlessness.

Harmlessness: A Path to Love and Light

As a psychic medium, I often witness how harmful thoughts (including limiting beliefs) and actions can linger in the energy field, creating blocks and challenges. But I’ve also seen the transformative power of harmlessness—the conscious decision to think, speak, and act in ways that cause no harm.

In spiritual traditions, harmlessness is a recurring theme:

  • Ahimsa in Yoga and Jainism: The principle of ahimsa, or non-harm, teaches that our thoughts, words, and actions should reflect kindness and respect for all living beings.

  • Compassion in Buddhism: The practice of karuna (compassion) involves wishing for the alleviation of suffering for all beings, reflecting harmlessness in action.

  • The Golden Rule: Found in nearly every faith tradition, “Treat others as you would like to be treated” embodies harmlessness and love in their simplest forms.

When we practice harmlessness, we open a channel for love to flow freely—not only through ourselves but into the collective energy of the world.

Living Love Through Thought and Action

This holiday season—and every day—offers opportunities to live in alignment with the Law of Love. Whether you call it divine energy, universal compassion, or simply living with intention, the way you direct your thoughts and actions has the power to transform.

Here are some ways to bring this principle into your life:

  1. Focus on Awareness: Start noticing the quality of your thoughts. When they stray toward judgment or negativity, gently redirect them to love and compassion.

  2. Practice Harmlessness: Before speaking or acting, pause and ask: Will this uplift or harm? Let your choices reflect kindness and unity.

  3. Set Intentions with Love: Whether you’re giving a gift, having a conversation, or making a decision, infuse it with the intention of love and connection.

  4. Reflect and Align: Spend time meditating or journaling on how your thoughts and actions align with the principles of harmlessness and love.

A Final Reflection

As a psychic medium, I’ve learned that the energy we cultivate within ourselves is one of the most profound gifts we can offer the world. When we align our thoughts with love, harmlessness, and the wisdom of the soul, we not only create harmony in our own lives but contribute to the greater good.

Alice Bailey’s teaching that “The Law of Love can be seen as the outstanding characteristic of the soul” reminds us that love is not just an ideal—it’s our very essence. And as the Dalai Lama so wisely advises, when we do good, avoid harm, and purify our minds, we align with the highest vibration of our being.

This holiday season, may you reflect on the message of love in all its forms. May your thoughts, words, and actions ripple out as a force of compassion and light, connecting you to the infinite web of existence.

With love and light,

Jennifer
