Awareness

The transmission of energy produces light. The tiniest form of light known to man is the photon. It travels through space relatively unaware for most people. That is until someone takes a mega flashlight and shines it in your eyes.

Whatever one is doing in life is an example of the lesson. I work in a library most of the week, so this becomes my backdrop for telling my story. If I stayed home, I might be talking about Mother Nature or the dirty dishes in my kitchen sink. Either way, the underlying lesson is the same.

It was my first day back to work after having a terrible fever. At the risk of being treated like Typhoid Mary, I went home early last Wednesday and took the following day off to rest in bed. I’m off on Fridays. My fever broke just in time for the weekend. However, I took it easy to be healthy and rested on Monday morning. When I take time to give myself some extra care at the onset of a cold, my recovery time is much shorter.

However, this didn’t stop me from going on a fabulous shopping spree Sunday afternoon. I’d lost weight. Spring was here. It was time for a fresh look. When I stepped out of the department store, I had a lengthy receipt that reminded me that I’d saved over $650 in sale prices. What?! I checked the tags, and sure enough. My cost was about 1/6th of all that. It pays to listen to the intuition.

Spring, to me, means opportunity. My spiritual helpers have been on my case about this very thing. Writing down the lesson in my neck of the woods means remaining grounded. I have much more going on than what my physical brain was originally designed to handle – well, at least so far as modern shrinks are concerned. So, what is the prevailing opportunity?

The Christ was resurrected, something many Christians celebrate this time of year, as do I. His message is evident to this metaphysicalist, anyway: Let go of the forms of God; otherwise, you too may wind up on the cross as I did.
